Orthopaedic Physiotherapy

Expert treatment for musculoskeletal conditions — from joint pain to sports injuries and post-surgical recovery

Conditions We Treat

Our orthopaedic physiotherapy service provides comprehensive care for a wide range of bone, joint, and soft tissue conditions using evidence-based treatment protocols.

Frozen Shoulder (Adhesive Capsulitis)

Progressive stiffness and pain in the shoulder joint caused by inflammation and thickening of the joint capsule. Treatment includes joint mobilization, stretching exercises, ultrasound therapy, and TENS for pain relief and gradual restoration of full shoulder movement.

Knee Pain & Arthritis (OA)

Osteoarthritis of the knee causing pain, stiffness, and reduced mobility. Physiotherapy helps through quadriceps strengthening, manual therapy, electrotherapy, and activity modification to reduce pain and delay surgical intervention.

Tennis Elbow / Golfer's Elbow

Lateral and medial epicondylitis causing elbow pain from repetitive strain. Treatment includes eccentric exercises, deep tissue massage, ultrasound therapy, bracing advice, and activity modification for lasting recovery.

Cervical & Lumbar Spondylitis

Degenerative changes in the cervical or lumbar spine causing neck/back pain, stiffness, and radiating symptoms. Managed through McKenzie exercises, cervical traction, postural correction, core strengthening, and manual therapy techniques.

Foot Drop

Weakness or paralysis of the muscles that lift the front part of the foot, causing difficulty walking. Physiotherapy includes strengthening exercises, electrical stimulation, gait training, ankle-foot orthosis (AFO) use, and functional rehabilitation.

Bone Fracture Rehabilitation

Post-fracture physiotherapy to restore strength, range of motion, and function after cast removal. Progressive exercise therapy, edema management, proprioception training, and functional activities tailored to the fracture site and healing stage.

Kyphosis / Lordosis / Scoliosis

Spinal deformities causing abnormal curvature of the spine. Treatment combines postural correction exercises, Schroth method (for scoliosis), core stabilization, stretching of tight muscles, and strengthening of weak supporting structures.

TKR / THR (Knee/Hip Replacement)

Post-total knee replacement and hip replacement physiotherapy is critical for optimal outcomes. Programs cover immediate post-op exercises, progressive weight-bearing, gait training, stair management, and return-to-activity protocols.

Sports Injuries

Comprehensive rehabilitation for all sports-related injuries including muscle tears, joint sprains, overuse injuries, and contusions. Phase-based rehabilitation from acute management through return-to-sport clearance.

Low Back Pain (LBP)

One of the most common conditions we treat. Management includes core stabilization exercises (McKenzie, Pilates-based), manual therapy, postural education, ergonomic advice, and pain management techniques for both acute and chronic LBP.

Ankylosing Spondylitis

Chronic inflammatory arthritis primarily affecting the spine. Physiotherapy with breathing exercises, spinal extension exercises, aquatic therapy principles, and activity management helps maintain mobility and prevent spinal fusion deformity.

Ligament / ACL / PCL / MCL Injury

Knee ligament injuries require structured rehabilitation whether treated conservatively or surgically. Programs include swelling management, progressive strengthening, proprioception training, functional drills, and sport-specific conditioning.

Heel Spur (Calcaneal Spur)

Bony outgrowth on the heel bone causing sharp pain. Treatment includes stretching of plantar fascia and calf muscles, ultrasound therapy, orthotic recommendations, ice therapy, and activity modification for pain-free walking.

Sciatica (Sciatic Nerve Pain)

Pain radiating along the sciatic nerve from lower back through the hip and down the leg. Management includes nerve mobilization, McKenzie exercises, piriformis stretching, core stability training, and traction therapy to relieve nerve compression.

Carpal Tunnel Syndrome

Compression of the median nerve in the wrist causing numbness, tingling, and weakness. Physiotherapy includes nerve and tendon gliding exercises, wrist splinting advice, ultrasound therapy, postural correction, and ergonomic modifications.

Disc Herniation (Prolapsed Disc)

Herniated intervertebral disc causing nerve compression and radicular pain. Treatment with McKenzie technique, neural mobilization, core strengthening, postural education, traction, and activity modification to relieve symptoms and prevent recurrence.

Osteoporosis

Reduced bone density increasing fracture risk. Physiotherapy focuses on safe weight-bearing exercises, balance training to prevent falls, postural correction, bone-loading activities, and education on safe movement strategies.

Bow Leg / Knock Knee (Genu Varum/Valgum)

Leg alignment deformities causing abnormal stress on joints. Physiotherapy includes strengthening of specific muscle groups, orthotics assessment, balance training, gait correction, and in children, monitoring with appropriate exercises.

Plantar Fasciitis

Inflammation of the plantar fascia causing heel and arch pain, worst with first steps in the morning. Treatment: plantar fascia and calf stretching, intrinsic foot strengthening, ultrasound, ice therapy, taping, and footwear advice.

Bursitis

Inflammation of bursae (fluid-filled sacs) around joints including shoulder, hip, knee, and elbow. Physiotherapy targets the cause, provides pain relief through electrotherapy, and addresses contributing biomechanical factors.

IT Band Syndrome

Iliotibial band friction syndrome causing lateral knee pain, common in runners and cyclists. Treatment includes foam rolling, hip abductor strengthening, IT band stretching, biomechanical analysis, and training load modification.

Achilles Tendon Repair

Post-rupture or post-surgery Achilles tendon rehabilitation. Progressive loading program starting from gentle range-of-motion to full return-to-sport, following strict tissue healing timelines for safe and complete recovery.

Torticollis (Wry Neck)

Abnormal neck muscle contraction causing the head to tilt or rotate. Physiotherapy includes stretching exercises, massage, postural correction, and in infants, gentle passive stretching for congenital muscular torticollis.
